ESG data from BRSR

The Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reports (BRSR) framework is a mandatory disclosure mechanism for top 1000 (NSE and BSE) listed companies or businesses by market capitalization to report their performance on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects and demonstrate their commitment to responsible business practices. The data has been updated based on company reports published on the NSE and BSE websites. The collection contains year- and company-wise, along with details of Corporate Identification Number (CIN), datasets on financial, environmental, social and governance performance of top 1000 companies, which are listed every year by market capitalization. The specifics of data contained for each of 1000 companies in the datasets include: -paid up capital, turnover and net worth -the name, shares and contribution, and other details of each of the subsidiary company of the top 1000 companies -number of locations, both within and outside India, where the offices their are located -the types of business activities and products and services that are done -gender-wise number of employees and workers, both permanent and others, along with details of their contribution in turnover of the company, -the details of grievance redressal mechanism such as number of complaints received, disposed and pending resolution, etc. Note: We observed certain discrepancies in the units reported by a few companies in their BRSR submissions, specifically between the PDF files and the corresponding XML files. On Dataful, we have retrieved the units mentioned in the PDF files to correct the XML data wherever possible and are working to make the datasets as accurate as possible. In some cases, data from PDF files of two different years for the same company did not match. In such instances, the data from the latest year has been considered. However, we recommend verifying the information directly with SEBI and/or the respective companies if you notice any such discrepancies.
