Coastal Erosion: State-wise Coastal Area under Types of Erosion, Accretion and Stable, between 1980 to 2016
The dataset contains state-wise compiled data on the length of coastal area which has undergone erosion, accretion and stable from the year 1990 to 2016 in India. The different types of erosion and accretion covered in the dataset include high, moderate and low types of erosion and accretion.
Notes:
According to NCCR:
1. The high, moderate and stable erosion of coastal areas stand for areas undergone erosion by over -5 meters, -5 to -3 meters and -1 to -3 meters, respectively, every year.
2. The high, moderate and stable accretion of coastal areas stand for areas undergone accretion by over 5 meters, 5 to 3 meters and 1 to 3 meters, respectively, every year.
3. Length of shoreline given in the data is based on 1:25000 scale imageries, excluding river/creek mouths, etc.
