Year-wise Estimated number of species: By taxonomic groups: 2012 to 2016

Data in table tells us about the year-wise estimated number of species by various taxonomic groups during 2012- 2016. Data specifies the number of world species and Indian species as found out in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Table also shows the percentage of species in India. Protista includes protozoa. Animalia includes Mesozoa, Porifera, Cnidaria, Ctenophora, Platyhelminthes, Nemertinea, Rotifera, Gastrotricha, Kinorhyncha, Nematoda, Nematomorpha, Acanthocephala, Sipuncula, Mollusca, Echiura, Annelida and Onychophora. Arthropoda includes Crustacea,Insecta, Arachnida, Pycnogonida, Chilopoda, Diplopoda, Symphyla, Merostomata, Phoronida, Bryozoa (Ectoprocta), Entoprocta, Brachiopoda, Chaetognatha, Tardigrada, Echinodermata and Hemichordata.
