NCRB - Disposal of Cases by Police: Year and State wise Disposal of IPC/BNS Crime Cases by Police

This dataset provides year wise and state head wise information on the police disposal of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) crime cases in India. It includes police investigation indicators such as total cases for investigation, cases reported during the year, cases pending investigation from previous years, cases pending investigation at the end of the year, cases disposed off by police, chargesheets submitted, cases chargesheeted during the year, cases chargesheeted from previous years, cases reopened for investigation, cases transferred to other states or agencies, cases quashed or stayed at the investigation stage, cases withdrawn by the government during investigation, cases not investigated, final reports including false cases, non cognizable cases, cases abated during investigation, cases involving mistake of fact or law or civil disputes, cases with insufficient evidence or untraced or no clue, chargesheeting rate, and pendency percentage, enabling analysis of police investigation outcomes and case pendency across crime categories.
