The dataset consists of the distribution of water bodies by ownership across states. Data has been classified for private and pubic ownership. Further, under private ownership, data is available for individual ownership, group of individuals, and other private bodies. Similarly, for public owned, data is available for State WRD/State Irrigation, Co-operative, Panchayat, Municipal Authority, and other government agencies.
