Fake News: Year and Month wise Number of Actionable, Non-Actionable Queries Taken and Total Fact Checks done by Fact Checking Unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB)

High Frequency Indicator: The dataset contains year- and month-wise compiled data from the year 2019 to till date on the actionable and non-actionable queries that have been taken suo-motu (on its own) and received from the public by the fact-checking unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB) Note: 1. The Fact Check Unit has been set up under PIB in November 2019. It takes cognizance of fake news relating to the Central Government (Govt. of India), both suo-motu and by way of queries sent by citizens on its portal or through e-mail and social media. The Unit responds to the relevant queries related to the policies, schemes, guidelines, initiatives, etc of the Govt. of India 2. Actionable Queries: As per PIB, Any fact check request submitted by the user for a verification pertaining to the Government of India is considered as an actionable query.
