The data shows the year-wise state and union territory-wise number of Panchayati Raj institutions and elected representatives for 2008, 2013 and 2014. Note; 1. Elections to the Local Bodies are yet to be conducted for Jharkhand in 2008. 2. Intermediate Panchayat does not exist (2 Tier) for Goa, Manipur, Sikkim, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep. 3. District Panchayat does not exist for Puducherry. 4. Data for Meghalaya, Mizoram & Nagaland pertains to Traditional Councils. 5. Panchayati Raj System is yet to be revived for NCT Delhi. 6. Data Not Applicable have been left blank.
