The data shows the state and union territory-wise number of elected representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions and representations of underrepresented sections of the society in Panchayats in 2008. Note; 1. Elections to the Local Bodies are yet to be conducted for Jharkhand in 2008. 2. Intermediate Panchayat does not exist (2 Tier) for Goa, Manipur, Sikkim, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep. 3. District Panchayat does not exist for Puducherry. 4. Data for Meghalaya, Mizoram & Nagaland pertains to Traditional Councils. 5. Panchayati Raj System is yet to be revived for NCT Delhi. 6. Data Not Applicable have been left blank. 7. The 2008 data is as per the latest (2012) available information.
