The datasets cover a wide range of offences recorded under the Indian Penal Code, the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955, including serious crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, rape, attempt to rape, kidnapping and abduction, grievous hurt, simple hurt, criminal intimidation, rioting, robbery, dacoity, arson, and other forms of violence and discrimination. They also include specific atrocities such as land dispossession, social boycott, denial of access to public places, and offences against women including sexual harassment, stalking, voyeurism, disrobing, and insult to modesty. The collection further provides detailed insights into the criminal justice process through police disposal data, including cases reported, chargesheets submitted, chargesheeting rate, cases closed as false or due to lack of evidence, cases pending investigation, and other investigation outcomes, as well as court disposal data such as cases sent for trial, convictions, acquittals, discharges, cases compounded or withdrawn, pendency, and conviction rates.

The collection includes metrics on the number of cases registered, crime rate, chargesheet rate, FIRs and online e-FIRs, covering both overall totals and disaggregation by legal categories.
