Total sterilisation in Community Health Center(CHC)s

The data shows the total sterilisation, including tubectomies and vasectomies, conducted at CHCs. Note:(1) Sterilization is any of several medical methods of birth control that intentionally leaves a person unable to reproduce. Sterilization methods include both surgical and non-surgical and exist for both males and females. (2) Tubectomy, also known as tubal sterilization, is a permanent method of contraception in women. It is a surgical process that blocks the fallopian tubes, thereby preventing the egg released by the ovary from reaching the uterus. (3) Vasectomy is an elective surgical procedure for male sterilization or permanent contraception. During the procedure, the male vasa deferential are cut and tied or sealed to prevent sperm from entering the urethra and thereby prevent fertilization of a female through sexual intercourse (4)CHC - The complete form of CHC is the Community Health Center. CHCs are private, non-profit organisations that provide medical services depending on the involvement and impact of consumers. CHCs usually offer people in the medically uninsured, underinsured & lesser income groups primary and preventive care.
