Total sterilisation in Primary Health Care(PHCs)

The data shows the total sterilisation which includes tubectomies and Vasectomies that are conducted at PHCs Note:(1) Sterilization is any of several medical methods of birth control that intentionally leaves a person unable to reproduce. Sterilization methods include both surgical and non-surgical and exist for both males and females. (2) Tubectomy, also known as tubal sterilization, is a permanent method of contraception in women. It is a surgical process that blocks the fallopian tubes, thereby preventing the egg released by the ovary from reaching the uterus. (3) Vasectomy is an elective surgical procedure for male sterilization or permanent contraception. During the procedure, the male vasa deferential are cut and tied or sealed to prevent sperm from entering the urethra and thereby prevent fertilization of a female through sexual intercourse (4) PHC - Primary Health Care it is the most basic package of essential health services and products needed to prevent disease, promote health, and manage illness.
