Name-, Party- and Session-wise Number of Leave Applications, together with reasons, and Granted for Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs)

High Frequency Indicator: The dataset contains name-, party- and session-wise compiled data on number of leaves applied and granted for lok sabha parliament members (MPs), together with reasons cited for application of leave, such as Detention in Jail, Work or Elections in Constituency or State, medical checkup, Illness of self or family, Marriage of Self or in the Family, Participation in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Visit abroad for participation in Conferences, etc. Note: Article 101 of the Constitution of India lays down conditions for declaring a parliamentary seat as vacant. One of the conditions is about absence of members from the house. If any MP is absent for a continuous period of sixty days (60) without permission, the house can declare his seat as vacant. Hence MPs submit leave applications when they are absent from the house for a relatively longer period.
