NCRB: Police disposal of cases of fake/false news and rumours registered under Section 505 of IPC

The dataset contains the overall charge sheeting rate and pendency percentage of cases of fake/false news and rumours registered under Section 505 of IPC as recorded by states in the National Crime Record Bureau's annual Crime in India report. NCRB started publishing data on this since 2017. This is helpful in tracking the police disposal of cases. Charge sheeting rate is calculated as the percentage of cases charge sheeted of the total cases disposed by police. Pendency percentage is the percentage of cases pending investigation at end of the year out of total cases for investigation in that year.
