NCRB - Disposal of Cases by Courts: Year and Crime Head wise Disposal of IPC/BNS Crime Cases by Courts

This dataset provides year wise and crime head wise information on the judicial disposal of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) crime cases in India. It covers major IPC/BNS crime categories such as offences affecting the human body, offences against women and children, offences against property, offences against public tranquillity, offences against the State, offences relating to documents and property marks, miscellaneous IPC crimes, and total cognizable IPC crimes. Crime heads include murder, rape, kidnapping and abduction, human trafficking, dowry deaths, abetment of suicide, attempt to murder, assault on women, grievous hurt, robbery, dacoity, burglary, theft, criminal breach of trust, extortion, riots, unlawful assembly, counterfeiting, forgery, cheating, fraud, arson, criminal intimidation, cruelty by husband or relatives, and other IPC/BNS offences. The dataset includes court disposal indicators such as total cases for trial, cases sent for trial, cases pending from previous years, cases pending at the end of the year, cases disposed by courts, cases disposed without trial, plea bargaining, convictions, acquittals, discharges, compounded cases, quashed cases, cases withdrawn from prosecution, cases abated by court, conviction rate, and pendency percentage, enabling analysis of judicial outcomes and case pendency across crime categories.
