NCRB - Rehabilitation and Welfare of Prisoner Statistics: Year and State wise Rehabilitation and Other Support Provided to Prisoners

This dataset provides year wise and state wise data regarding the rehabilitation and various other forms of support offered to prisoners. Rehabilitation support includes financial aid given upon release and the number of convicts successfully rehabilitated. Other forms of support encompass the provision of legal aid to prisoners and the wages paid to prisoners (per day in rupees) based on if they're a skilled, a semi skilled or an unskilled prisoner. Note: 1. From 2016 to present, Himachal Pradesh has no classification such as Skilled, Semi Skilled and Unskilled prisoners. 2. From 2017 to present, Karnataka follows 4 categories of wage system for convicts working in prisons such as Highly Skilled (2022, 2023 - ₹663; 2017 to 2021 - ₹250 wage per day), Skilled, Semi Skilled and Unskilled prisoners. 3. Due to non-receipt of data from West Bengal for the year 2018 & 2019, data furnished for 2017 has been used. 4. From 2001 to 2008, Jails didn't exist in Arunachal Pradesh.
