This dataset provides year, state and city wise statistics on murder cases in India, classified by motive. Motives include political reasons, honour killing, casteism, communal or religious causes, dowry, personal vendetta, illicit relationships, gang rivalry, property disputes, robbery or extortion, rape, kidnapping and abduction, terrorist or extremist violence, psychopath or serial killing, witchcraft, child or human sacrifice, road rage, blind murders with no clue, and other causes, enabling detailed analysis of intent behind murders at the city level.
