Year and State wise Enforcement Actions Against Fertiliser Black Marketing in India

This dataset presents year and state wise enforcement measures taken against the blackmarketing of fertilisers in India, as reported by State Governments to the Department of Fertilizers. The enforcement actions covered include FIRs lodged, licences cancelled or suspended, and show cause notices issued. Fertilisers are notified as an essential commodity under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and are regulated through the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO), 1985. Under these legal provisions, State Governments are empowered to initiate action against violations such as hoarding, over-pricing, diversion, and illegal sale of fertilisers. Note: West Bengal did not report any data for the period from FY2019–20 to FY2023–24.
