Year and State wise Gender Parity Index of Gross Enrolment Ratio by Level of School Education

The dataset contains Year and State wise Gender Parity Index of Gross Enrolment Ratio by Level of School Education The Gender Parity Index (GPI) measures the relative access to education for females compared to males. It's calculated by dividing the number or enrolment rate of females by that of males at a specific education level. A GPI of 1 indicates parity, while values below 1 favor males and above 1 favor females. Notes: 1. Data up to 2021–22 correspond to the earlier system of classification - Primary (Grades 1-5), Upper Primary (Grades 6-8), Elementary (Grades 1-8), Secondary (Grades 9-10), and Higher Secondary (Grades 11-12). Data from 2022–23 onwards are compiled as per the NEP 2020 framework, which restructures schooling into Foundational (Pre-school + Grades 1-2), Preparatory (Grades 3-5), Middle (Grades 6-8), and Secondary (Grades 9-12) stages. 2. The Gender Parity Index (GPI) measured as ratio of GER of girls to GER of boys, with a value above 1 indicates proportionally higher participation of girls as compared to boys.
