Year wise Employment in Public and Organised Private Sector

The dataset shows year wise employment in public sector, organised private sector and number of persons on the live register Notes: 1. The public sector comprises all Governmental agencies: Central, State, Quasi-Government (both Central and State) and local bodies. 2. The private sector comprises all establishments (under the organised sector) employing 10 or more persons. 3. The employment data for public and private sectors from 1980-81 pertain to end-March . 4. Data on number of persons on live register also include the cumulative number of applicants who remain on the registers of employment exchanges as needing employment assistance at the end of the year.
