Year wise number of clearing houses of different categories of banks

The dataset shows number of clearing houses of reserve bank of India, state bank of India, associations of state bank of India, nationalised banks Note: 1. Cheque Truncation System (CTS) implemented in New Delhi (northern grid), Mumbai (western grid) and Chennai (southern grid) which includes the cheque clearing volume of 66 erstwhile MICR CPCs. 2. The figures shown under RBI for the year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,2020 and 2021 are CTS grids. 3. The figures shown under State Bank of India, Associates of State Bank of India, Nationalised Banks, and Other Banks for the year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 are Non-MICR clearing houses. 4. All the 1219 ECCS clearing houses across the country have closed their cheque clearing operations voluntarily in terms of Regulation 25 of the Uniform Regulations and Rules for Bankers Clearing Houses (URRBCH) and migrated to CTS Grids in September 2020. 5. Southern grid (Chennai) and Northern grid (New Delhi) were merged on July 1, 2023. 6. Western grid (Mumbai) was merged with the combined grid on October 13, 2023 to form the National Grid.
