The collection contains year-, state- and type-of-jail-wise compiled datasets on the total number of undertrial and convicted prisoners, prison capacity and the occupancy ratio across all the different types of jails in India from the year 2007 to 2021. The datasets relating to undertrials is further categorized by their education level, religion, caste, gender, domicile, duration of confinement, etc.

The collection provides detailed datasets on suicides in India, organized by year, state, city, and gender, including instances of mass family suicides. These datasets are further classified based on the causes of suicides, the profession, marital status, education, and income level of the victims, as well as the methods used for committing suicide.

The Crimes Against Children dataset collection from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) provides comprehensive year, state, city, crime head, and gender wise statistics on offences against children in India under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Special and Local Laws (SLL) such as the POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. It includes data on reported cases, crime rates, chargesheet rates, and detailed court disposal outcomes such as convictions, acquittals, pendency, and withdrawals, offering insights into the extent, nature, and judicial processing of crimes against children across the country.

The collection contains year-, state- and city-wise historically compiled National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data from the year 2002 on the number of cyber crimes committed in violation of various legislations such as Indian Penal Code (IPC), Information Technology Act (IT Act), other State and Local Laws (SLL) such as Gambling Act, Lotteries Act, Trademark Act, Copyright Act, etc. The datasets contained in the collection also include datasets categorized by number of cyber crimes by their motives, types of crimes, and by their disposal status with police and in courts.

This collection contains the details of custodial deaths in India and the cases against police personnel for human rights violations compiled by the NCRB. In addition, cases registered at NHRC, monetary compensation and disciplinary action by NHRC for custodial deaths are included.
