NCRB - Clashes in Prison Statistics: Year wise Number of Prison Clashes With and Without the Use of Firearms (Firing in Jails) resulting in Injuries and Deaths of Inmates and Jail Personnel

This dataset provides year wise data on injures and deaths due to prison violence and security incidents within Indian jails, specifically tracking the occurrence of clashes (or group clashes). It distinguishes between clashes involving the use of firearms (formerly classified as "Firings in Jails" prior to 2019) and clashes occurring without firearms (formerly classified simply as "Clashes" prior to 2019). Note: For 2016 to 2019, Clashes without use of firearm is only available data.
