This Dataset contains Bank, Bank-group and sector-wise New accretion to NPAs from standard advances, Actual Recoveries, Write-offs of Scheduled Commercial Banks as of 31 March of a financial year Notes: a) All Nationalised Banks and SBI & its associate banks are grouped as Public Sector Banks b) IDBI Bank is re-categorized from Public Sector Bank to Private Sector Bank w.e.f. 21st Jan 2019 c) There were mergers of public sector banks as below: i) Associate banks of SBI (namely, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore and Bharatiya Mahila Bank Ltd.) got merged with the State Bank of India w.e.f. April 1, 2017. ii) Bharatiya Mahila Bank is merged with SBI w.e.f. 1st April 2017 iii) Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank are merged into Bank of Baroda w.e.f. 1st April 2019 iv) Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India are merged into Punjab National Bank w.e.f. 1st April 2020 v) Syndicate Bank is merged into Canara Bank w.e.f. 1st April 2020 vi) Allahabad Bank is merged into Indian Bank w.e.f. 1st April 2020 vii) Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank are merged into Union Bank w.e.f. 1st April 2020 viii) The name of Catholic Syrian Bank is changed to CSB Bank Limited w.e.f. 10th June 2019 d) Lakshmi Vilas Bank amalgamated with DBS Bank India Ltd. w.e.f. Nov 27, 2020. However, LVB continued to report as a separate entity till March 2021.
