Banking Data from RBI's Handbook on Indian States

Since 2016, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published the annual Handbook of Statistics on Indian States, providing a comprehensive time series of socio-economic data. It covers sub-national statistics on demographics, health, state economy, agriculture, environment, prices, wages, industry, infrastructure, banking, and fiscal indicators across Indian states, with data spanning 1951 to 2024. This Collection contains datasets on year and state-wise information on various financial metrics related to Scheduled Commercial Banks and Regional Rural Banks in India. It includes data on credit to agriculture, industry, and personal loans; credit-deposit ratios by place of sanction and utilization; deposits; and the distribution of bank offices and branches.
